Reposing in the Heart of Stillness
A five day retreat with Tina Shettigara
This slightly longer retreat (Thursday to Monday) will be a dive into the heart of stillness. We will explore what that might mean, in the context of the View teachings of non-dual Śaiva (pronounced shive-a) tantra.
Viśrānti (pronounced vish-run-ti) – repose, rest; also cessation; in Śakta traditions, reabsorption.
We set an intention to cease running on our daily hamster wheel, at least for the period of retreat. We include in that intention, the art of reposing, of resting and surrendering, or being reabsorbed into the Heart of Stillness.
Hṛdaya (pronounced hrid-i -ya) – heart; in Śaiva and Śakta traditions spiritual heart, seat of understanding, where understanding is not cognitive but a deep recognition.
By Heart of Stillness we mean hṛdaya in the sense that the Śaiva and Śakta traditions use it. We set our intention to repose into our deepest recognition of the truth of who we are, and on offer are practices to help us to that sacred repose.
One of these practices is the practice of silence. This is a sacred practice but can be scary for some. We will not maintain silence for the entire retreat but some period of silence will be beneficial.
There are also some literally divine meditations I am keen to share, and we will taste Conscious movement, Yoga Nidra and maybe we will sing and dance as well, all emanating from and being reabsorbed into, the Heart of Stillness.
If you need more detail about the program, you can find a sample program here, but remember, it is a sample only, things might change.

My passion is helping people find connection to innate equanimity, ease and a wholeness of being, easeful movement in body and a capacity to welcome all that arises with joy.
What past retreaters with Tina have said
Julia
This is a unique experience and Tina is a warm and guiding teacher. All of the practices celebrate life, connection and understanding. The grounds are beautiful and everything is exceptionally clean. Be ready to sit for long periods though there is lots of free time and the body sensing practice gets you moving like nothing else. It's a wonderful experience!
